Avid Golfer Magazine & GolfDay Recognize the
Tom Weiskopf/Jay Morrish Course as “Best You Can Play”

ROCKWALL, Texas, January 10th, 2023 – Buffalo Creek Golf Club was recently recognized as one of the best public golf courses in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and the country by AvidGolfer Magazine and GolfDay, respectively.

After recent course upgrades and improvements that include 49 newly leveled tee boxes and the best quality sand in golf for their newly renovated sand traps, Buffalo Creek ranked No. 11 on AvidGolfer’s 2022 “Best of Public Golf” East Course list and earned a high ranking among the magazine’s “Top Luxury Courses” ($65-$74). GolfDay, the premier golf course guide that includes rankings from GolfWeek and Golf Digest as well as an authoritative source for public, private, resort, and municipal courses, listed Buffalo Creek at No. 73 on its “U.S. Top 100 Public Courses” list. Buffalo Creek is ranked alongside some of the country’s premier courses and acclaimed major championship venues such as Bethpage Black, Torrey Pines, and Chambers Bay. The GolfDay Rating is based on a variety of criteria, including the reputation of the architect, updates that have been made since the course was built, USGA Course and Slope Ratings, current local and national rankings by Golf Digest and Golfweek (as well as other authoritative sources), the quality and diversity of practice facilities, general course conditioning and current course reviews. “We are honored by these recognitions,” said Buffalo Creek General Manager Brad Dutler. “Every day, we strive to deliver outstanding course conditions and award-winning customer service. Thanks to the vision and support from the Perry family, we’ve been able to create a unique golf experience for local residents and the DFW area. We remain committed in continuing to elevate Buffalo Creek as one of the best courses both here in Texas and Nationwide.”

After reassuming operational control of Buffalo Creek in June 2020, the Perry family selected Chicago-based KemperSports to reopen the course, take over daily operations and lead the course in achieving the family’s long-term vision for Buffalo Creek. In the coming years, the family has plans for several more projects aimed at enhancing the course, amenities, and its offerings.
